Building Value and Creating Experience with Rachuba’s Regional Property Manager, Tracey Schmidt

Tracey Schmidt has been an integral component of Rachuba’s property management division since March 2008. As Rachuba’s Regional Property Manager, she oversees the company’s entire property management portfolio while acting as the current property manager for Piney Ridge Apartments & Townhomes.

“I started my career as a secretary and began moving up the ladder,” shares Tracey. “Learning this way taught me to respect every position in a company, and I believe it made me a better regional manager. I’ve always believed that you treat the janitor the same as the CEO!”

Tracey values her time at Rachuba because she enjoys helping employees expand their skills while staying true to the company’s familial, core values. “I love working with the property management team and making their jobs easier by improving our processes,” states Tracey. “When we improve our internal functions, we’re helping our team focus on our residents.”

When asked about her favorite part of being on Rachuba’s staff, Tracey shared that she enjoys being part of a company that appreciates and respects one another. “The company core values are my personal ones as well, which makes it easy to uphold them,” says Tracey. “I work with an amazing team that lives Rachuba’s mission each day because we truly enjoy building value and creating positive experiences for our residents.”

Tracey holds an Accredited Resident Manager designation and a Certified Property Manager designation through the Institute for Real Estate Management. She loves continuing education and believes that everyone should always be willing to learn and grow. She also serves on the Maryland Multi-Housing Association Education Committee and is dedicated to being an advocate and leader in her community.

Tracey is known by her colleagues to be an extremely grateful person with an infectiously positive attitude. In fact, she lives by this Oprah Winfrey quote: “If you look at what you have in life, you’ll always have more. If you look at what you don’t have in life, you’ll never have enough,” because she believes in “finding the positive in every situation and person.”

When she’s not at Piney Ridge Apartment & Townhomes, or at Rachuba headquarters in Eldersburg, Tracey is most likely traveling with her husband or spending time with her family and grandchildren.
